We are thrilled to announce our association with Multicultural Education
and Counseling for the Arts (MECA)! The good folks at MECA have
agreed to help us through our formative years, and it is from their
fabulous space at the old Dow Elementary School that we host our
teacher and other nonprofit shopping events.
Make sure you sign up for our mailing list to keep up with all the news!

Formed in Houston, Texas in December 2009, the Center for Recycled
Art is a 501c3 organization and sponsors structured educational
opportunities for students and programs for at-risk youth in the Greater
Houston area. Participants receive instruction in repurposing waste
materials and have hands-on opportunities to create age-appropriate
recycled art.
The Center also sponsors activities for daycare centers, homeless
shelters, family violence refuge centers, senior citizens groups, school
carnivals, neighborhood centers and summer camp programs.
The Center receives donations of clean waste materials (clean scrap)
from the public and make it available for use in the Center’s sponsored
projects and educational programs. The Center will also make these
materials available to other non-profit organizations at no or low cost.
